Yes, if you can get a mechanic to do a job for $50.00, it's certainly worth it. Around here, it would be $300 for such a job............$150 for the starter and $150 for the labor.

I don't really remember what he charged me for labor, but I don't think it was much more than half an hour at $90/hour. I think I had him do a few other little things at the same time, but it was a while ago.

I had the chance to hear a new starter on a 617 today, mine is for sure on its way out. It turns but it's just weak as can be.
