Water Pump 115

Ok,

Something is Fishy here. My Water Pump went out on my 76 300D. I looked at the manual and it shows the same water pump as my 74 240D. The one I ordered is correct though so it must be standard, but it is way different than my 240D. I don't understand why the Brain Gears Manual shows me other wise. I also wonder why the balancer doesn't have a way to get through to the bolt. In the pictures of others there is a space in the balancer to get to it through. There is a U shape cut out. My balancer has no holes whatso ever and the only way I can see to get to it is to take it off. Why would the Germans do such a stupid thing, They never really have before. There must be something I'm not seeing.

I would appreciate any help. I absolutely have to have the car running by this Sunday for the Portland GTG. This will be its first real run more than 15 miles.

Thank you in advance. I will not be able to reply until Saturday when I get back from a trip.
