I started with my SDL almost 3 years ago, hooked on the damned thing, fixing just about every little thing wrong with it, including a paint job.

After hardly ever driving it, in all that time, I grew bored of not using it and decided to sell it after noticing the dip**** mechanic chipped the paint while replacing the sunroof seal. I figured it woul dalways give me headaches.

So I had it detailed, refinished the wood console and had it looking nice. Really nice with the hopes of selling it here or on ebay.

I went to the dealership, thinking of buying a new 30k truck and on the way, fell in love with my car all over again, didn't buy the new truck and now it's a daily driver.

At 336K miles, it runs like a champ, and looks great too!

Plus no extra car or insurance payments.

Too funny, this is what my family and friends have been saying about me for years now. I love my Mercedes'. Always tinkering on them and making them as nice as they can be.

No No, ..... don't go Griot's.... WAYYYY too expensive. Go to that forum adn you wil find good locations to purchase from.

AutoGeek.net is a great retailer so is the Autopia.org page

Chemical Guys makes some really good products. I thought that this forum was addictive.... Autopia is wayy more addicting...

Too bad I'm no longer in CT as I would have been glad to help you w/ the detailing excursion... So much to learn, start reading those threads

I'll wait to get it painted first. Now I don't care, just wipe some wax all over it every month or so.

It was always a hobby.....

....you just hadn't found the right car to turn it into an obsession.
