before replacing the switch you can put a meter on the wire in the trunk to see if you get voltage and check that the switch reverses the polarity depending on direction requested

Checked the fuse and it is good. I think I will change it though just to make sure.

I had not tried the sunroof on my 300SD until today and noticed that I hear the sunroof motor when I use the switch, but no movement of the sunroof.

I was pleased to hear the motor running.

Any thoughts here as to the complexity or severity of this issue?
