The plastic trays which hold the first aid kit (ironically) and the storage compartment on my 300SD would give quite readily to a good kick. The kick might be hard to place as the fuel tank is close to them, but given enough adrenaline, I'm sure I could do it...

Well, if it's anything like my 116, I'd first check to see if they locked in any of the three other bodies that can fit in there.

Then, if not, I'd do the taillights....that's pretty standard for most vehicles I think.

I agree with the lights. Take the bulb tray out, kick through the light assy and open the trunk or scream as loud as you can.

Problem is, chuck norris, and only chuck norris, could pull off something like that.

Are you kidding? The trunk would unlock itself when Chuck threatens it with a roundhouse kick.

if it were mine

they would have to unload my STUFF before stuffing me in there.

it might be worth getting locked in for a while to have a clean trunk!

After thoroughly surveying the enormity of my situation, I would make myself as comfortable as possible. Following a nap of at least 15 hours, I would bask in the blessed solitude and relax for at least a few more days. Hopefully, no one would find me.

Probably work on the antenna wiring for a while and get that straightened out, then look at some of the interior carpeting clips that have broken.

w126 trunk opening

well as noted, the 126 has a large rubber flap opening in the bottom of the wheelwell, that would serve fine as air source.
if I were locked in my 126 trunk, I would turn on my flashlight, pull out my leatherman wave tool, unscrew the taillight bulb cover, carefully remove the lens, reach out and push the button and open the trunk. if somehow the thief knew how to lock the rear deck button. (really, how would they know?) I would reach into my pocket and pull out the spare key and unlock it.
if somehow the thief searched me and removed all the spare keys I keep on me (um, three really) I would at least have light and air until I was discovered.

Shoot.. If i were in my trunk it would be easy to get out. I've got a set of heads for the Charger back there... those SOBs weigh about 50 lbs each... you could pretty much hammer through any part of the trucnk with one of those....

now that i think about it, i think i'd just sit there... the heads and the trunk are worth way to much for me to try and excape...

Exactly, pull the carpet then slide the lock rod over... there ya go.

W126 trunks are not air tight. The exhaust air from the cabin goes through them and out the vents in the side. I would think starving would happen before you ran out of air.

Simple though just knock out the rear tail light and upen the trunk. If its locked pull the pin out, of the tab then open it.

The fuel tank and a fire wall are in front of you so kicking in that direction would be a waste.

If the trunk lid is locked then kicking it will only bend it, massive pin locking those things.

W126 trunk lids are steel btw, I have yet to find an aluminum one.
