depends on how much......you could hydrolock the engine turning it into junk quite rapidly.

We used to 'decarbonize' engines using ATF, a long time ago.
Get engine fully warm...with filter removed...engine at 3000 rpm....slowly pour in ATF untill engine begins to slow.....open throttle to compensate, while pouring ATF into intake..........made a LOT of smoke... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() NOT recommended for DIESEL engines ! .

dump half a quart all at once and you will see the engine come to a rapid stop..and never run again.....but slowly tricked in while running it will get burned and do no real harm.

ATF is a god way to prevent rust in the cylinders. Maybe he thought it was going to sit for a long time?

is there any chance of ruineing the engine?
|

the only way it would be ruined is if it hydro locked. you said you allready ran it so thats out of the question. you dont have cats or o2 sensors so it will not harm anything. if anything it will clean things. there are seveal people on here that dump trans fluid in the tank.
