Hi everyone,

A further update. I've been out of the country for eight years and the project has sat in storage. Due to mounting living costs and lack of employment this thing needs to go. But it would be great to see someone take this to completion!

There are a lot of great parts available, all in Western Massachusetts, which I'd like to sell for a bargain in one transaction only. If that doesn't work, I will part it out piecemeal and will post the relevant links here.

Here are the key pieces:

1984 California-based wagon shell, Anthracite Grey, ~200k, no engine/trans, rough interior (rougher since storage) but some extra pieces included like MB-tex rear seats.
VW TDI engine ALH with 114k miles, complete, including wiring harness, pedal, intercooler, A/C compressor, alternator, etc.
Passat (longitudinal) oil pan for that engine
VNT-15 turbocharger (separate piece, not integrated into manifold as they were on the U.S. cars)
Longitudinal exhaust manifold from Vanagon
Covetted M-B factory 5-speed (717.400) from 280E, including shift lever and linkage
VW flywheel that matches M-B clutch disc
Emachineshop.com custom aluminum adapter plate between engine and transmission
W124 "tandem pump" for power steering and SLS in one unit
1984 240D automatic with very nice interior, was a good runner 8 years ago, manual A/C controls (needs new LF spring, however)
240D manual driveshaft and cross-member (puts the combo at the right front-back orientation)
Manual window regulators
240D pedal cluster
Four custom casters that will let you put this thing in the back of your garage
Harbor Freight engine hoist
Various other bits and pieces
All my documentation and ready aid consulting for your new project.

I have spent about $6000 plus shipping on the parts above. I'd like to see $3000 or so for the whole lot, if you can come take it away.

Photos shown below (many were in this thread but got lost somehow) are all pre-storage, except for the first six, which show the car as is today. It was in an enclosed storage unit but some moisture got in.

The other car. This has the necessary 3.69 gears and cluster to make the other car a good runner. It's typically rusty, but not terrible. One tiny crack way on the right of the otherwise good dash. Beautiful MB-tex seats and excellent wood.
