W124 300D Cruise Control

I have a 1987 300D (OM603 engine). I recently replaced my glow plugs and repaired a leak in my injection pump. When removing the intake manifold, some of the accelerator linkages are also removed. Prior to performing this service my cruise control worked very well (only occasionally would it turn off unexepcted). Now it doesn't work at all. The car accelarator pedal feels fine and unobstructed. Is it possible that I damaged something taking off the intake manifold? I know that the amplifier goes on these cars, but I doubt that this could be damaged while removing the intake manifold. It may be just a coincidence. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Regards,
Sonar23
