"I Just did a 0-60 test on as level a ground as I could find. it's a little up hill actually. and it turned out 9.55 seconds?"

let's see a youtube video of your speedo calibration, and then your 0-60 run with this time...

If my SD didn't flare(sp?) so bad I would play with it more... It's simply a back up car that usually lives six hours away from me. I love it to death but it's really a lost cause. Although I did power brake it tonight for poops and giggles.... been awhile since I smelled fresh rubber!

Can't wait to get the 5spd 300d on the road.... been in the garage on jack stands for a month...

The one and only SDL I ever drove seemed like a funny car compared to all mine.. I would have bought it if it was not for the massive rust issues.

I don't remember what this thread is all about.... I am drunk

Eff it!!! Let's all buy a malibu!

If the fuel supply to the base of the injection pump is higher than normal. There are indications the engine output is higher remember. We had a poster or two that claimed they ran high injection pump base supply pressure with much improved performance results. No reported 0-60 times yet they quoted it was quite noticeable.

Pinch off or close the return line right after the injection pump and try it. It will not hurt the fuel system for a short test but the engine/transmission cannot be guaranteed. If the lift pump is really good and fuel filters are pretty clean you might get thirty plus pounds feed pressure.

I also still have a 240d that seems to overall perform better than the majority. Never have found time to really try to establish why though. It just sits in the garage and waits. Although it has a very low milage factory replacement engine in it. One possibility is the injection pump govenor may be miscalibrated. All I know is something is different with that engine or in the drivetrain.
