thanks,
The coupon was good until 6/24. I got it from the newspaper but they had the sale papers in the store when I went in to buy the filters. The coupon was good for four filters but there were only two in the store. I may check back later.

You could check the pep boys web site for the coupon, it may be available online, don't know.

You could also appeal to the cashier, tell them you left the coupon at home. Smile, ask them if they can make it work. Be imaginative, put them in a position of power.

Pep Boys web site -- no go in N. Cal.

I checked all of the circulars in the Poop Boys web site. They showed Mobil 1 and Purcolator oil filters but no Fram. Maybe it was a "local option." My "local" Pep Boyz is in Rohnert Park (Sonoma County) in northern California. Your mileage may be different.

I went to PepBoys and the cashier knows about the coupon but she said it was sent out in the mail.
TwitchKitty, is there a way you can scan the coupon on the paper or local ad? Our local ads are like the above posters.
Thx in advance for your help. Btw, they also had 2 of the hecho en turkey filters in the shelves.

Crud...The different engines use different filters...

Anyone have any experience with the various filters? I have a 1987 300DT (603 engine). I don't mind ordering one type to fit each of the various engines out there, but I need to know which ones I need to buy. I have a Mann filter for the 603 engine. I would like to stick with Mann filters so that the differences will be a little easier to spot.

Purolater actually makes a good filter, I run them on my F150.

In Texas our Autozoo has some silly $20 rebate for every $100 you spend. I must have used $400 in those cards so far.

I went by the PEP boys on my afternoon run across town and they were out of the coupons. The cashier said the coupon was only in the paper. The instore sales paper was like the rest of you have described.

Sorry I already used my coupon so I can't scan it.

I got some hits running google searches. You may be able to get the same deal at Advance Auto Parts.

Google: fram oil filter $6.50

Our local Pep Boys is out of these filters. I'm going to try Advance tomorrow.

The cashier said she could make the price work without the coupon, worth asking, worth kissing up.

We have discussed this ad nauseum, search. If you buy the 2930 built in Turkey you are buying one of the better filters left on the market for the MB diesels. Don't buy the 2930 made in Mexico or if you play the odds, any filter made in mexico or india. This is the cotton gin waste issue. If you don't want sticks, bugs, rocks and dirt in your filter, this is one to buy.

Name brands do not guarantee that a product is built by the company named on the product. Most products are built by subcontractors and relabeled with many brand names. Filters are available with many brand names, most come from a couple factories with sticks, bugs, rocks and dirt in them.
Fram filters are all junk. Though, they look nice on a v-12 Ferrari engine.
Fram filters are sold at Wal-Mart, does that tell you something?
The best filter for a diesel MB is Wix oe OE. IMHO.

Bring on the flame.......

Troll - get back under the bridge and behave yourself. I agree somewhat, I wouldn't buy Fram except for these filters made in Turkey.

The other coupon I pulled out of the same ad was for $2.00 off of cooling hoses. I found that coupon last night and so on my morning run across town I stopped by and picked up a couple hoses.

I talked to another cashier and she said the coupon said "as low as $6.50" so she shouldn't have sold me the filters that cheap. I asked her if she could give me a rain check for a couple more and she just smiled. She had a copy of the sales flyer with the coupon, she wouldn't let me have the coupon either.

Sorry this didn't work out for more people. If I see something like this again I'll get a scan first.

I attached a picture of my receipt, doubt it will help.

Poop Boys

Side note, what about the toilet paper filters like Frantz, Motor Guard, etc.
I can't help but be impressed by them...

Get this through your head, nobody tells me to behave myself, or where to go. If you don't like my comments, then thats just tough. I wasn't talking to you, if you get insulted so easily, my apologies to your tender ego.

You're funny. This was an informative, well behaved discussion before you came in and pissed all over it. Twitch was the thread starter and the last poster discussing Fram, I can't blame him for calling you out on this. You wanted flame, you got it.
