You've just purchased a 20 year old car and as a general rule I'd replace all the rubber brake lines and the master cylinder if the previous owner hadnt done it

New MCs and brake fluid really transform the brakes on these cars. I didn't realize these cars had such good brakes 'till I replaced the MC. I had flushed and bled the brakes and such, and it did help. So I figured hey, its a 20 year old car with 20 year old technology, of course my dad's new Honda has much better brakes. Turns out they're pretty comparable...locked up the tires after I took it for a test drive cause i was so used to pushing the damn brake pedal so damn hard.
