Maybe it would be a good idea to post the person's screen and real name that stiffs us on parts or refunds, so that others do not fall victim as well. Personally, I have not had any problems, except with Ebay.

I know your pain. I had a guy on Ebay stiff me a few years ago on a taillight, around $25 too. Cashed my check but never sent the item. He called me a month or so later to tell me he got busy and would send it (probably called to avoid negative feedback). Never did, even after I called him a couple times, at which times he apologized and said he would. By the time I realized I was out of luck, it was too late to leave negative feedback. Ebay would not do anything, so I finally let it drop. His account had no activity after that, and I suspect from conversions with him that he had been out of a job and was selling off extra parts. Probably found a job and decided to blow me off. It still bugs me to this day. But at least it was only $25.

If you cant get his info let me know and I will dig up phone and address. He seemed like nice enough guy in person. He is maybe an illegal alien? Or some such thing.

not directly related

this is what I did when I got ripped off by redlinepowerchip on ebay.

I disputed claim on paypal and emailed the guy and told him what I thought of him and his product.
later, he emailed me from another email address acting like a previous customer, well, he was dumb enough to use the name of his other ebay account that be bought stuff with. After reading his feedback, I found someone whom he had ripped off and contacted him. I was able to get his real name, address, and phone number.

I confimed this by finding a business liscence in the same city. Also found other domains and businesses he had started.

Sending a screen shot from Google Earth of his apartment with a bullseye painted on it resulted in him moving

He no longer lists his crap for my particular car

unfortunately, he still sells his crap to other unsuspecting car owers on ebay

Your best bet is to file a dispute with Ebay/Papal as soon as there is a hint of a problem. That often lets the offending party know you are serious and motivates them to do the right thing. And you don't let deadlines expire while you are hoping for the best. A dispute can always be cancelled, but you can't file one once the deadline has passed. (Same with your credit card company.)

I replied to a post over there where he is selling a Ford escort.

Now hopefully he'll get back to me.

I also tried to get some info on him but no dice.

Thanks to everyone who replied and I hope that
this thread helps a few people from getting ripped off.
And maybe for me it will have a happy ending.

Louis.

Maybe he's just an alien.

PS:Winmutt, I'm going to see if I get some reaction first but
might have to resort to this if not, I'll keep you posted.

Thank you.

Lawrenceville, GA?...

That's not too far away from me. If you don't hear from him this time, perhaps I could go pay him a visit for you.

Thanks Mike I'll keep that in mind.
But hopefully it won't come to that.

Update

Hi everyone.

I have to say that not often does one have a
happy ending but in this case I can say that
all is well, ends well.

Just received word from him.
Turns out he forgot about me because going
on a business trip shortly after my payment.
He was very nice, he even gave me a refund.
But the best part is that he's giving me the item
for free.

Like Winmutt said he is a nice guy.
Not many of those around these days.
I just wish that everyone is as lucky as
I was and that their cases get solved
on the same possitive note.

Again I like to thank everyone for your replies,
advice and support.

Regards.

Louis.
