Brush kit for W123 aux fan - does it exist??
I replaced the auxilary fan in my '83 300CD last night and I have the old fan in the trunk. The motor is bad - brushes are worn.
BTW - removing and replacing that aux fan is much more difficult than anticipated, and I did leave a good bit of knuckle-skin on the condenser. Is anyone aware of whether a brush kit for these motors exists? If so, I want to fix the motor and keep the fan just in case the one I just put in the car should fail. |

I'm not sure about a kit, but you might take a sample brush down to the hardware store and see if they have any there.

It is my understanding that brushes from the local hardware store will work. However, they are made of softer material and won't last quite as long. Try www.**************.com for replacement brushes that might last longer. (Note: if the armature is severely worn, replacement brushes won't help.)
