Somehow I just don't feel comfortable doing that on a 20+ year old engine with a lot of time on it. Don't really want to have to deal with it if something lets go...

Nothing is going to let go if it was built properly. I run out a Lexus V8 with 235K to 6200rpm about twice a month...

I agree. I figure there's "X" number of revolutions. No sense in using 'em all up at once.

ive gotten mine up to 5100 .... but it usually sees 4700 when i merge into traffic... and thats up hill... if i dont floor it i'll have a toyota in my back seat

The factory manual specifies anywhere from 5000 - 5300 at no load for the 602.

Yeah thats about what the SDL does, after 105 it takes forever to gain that extra 15mph. Still not bad for 150hp.
![]() The passing power is what is really nice about these cars. At 70mph you are at the peak of the power and torque band, no downshift is needed.
