klima relay location ?
Can someone tell me where the Klima relay is on a 1982 300sd and if it can affect the function of the kickdown switch?

No Klima relay on any vehicle prior to '85.
No effect on the kickdown switch.

KLIMA relay bypass
I have an ice-cube relay in the relay box just ahead of the KLIMA relay; it isn't in the other 1985 300 DT (Patrick's) that I saw at the Sacramento GTG yesterday. Well, it looks like a Mickey Mouse installation and not factory (I've seen a lot, done a few too). The wires from the ice-cube connect to the socket for the KLIMA. Could this be some PO's way of bypassing a fried KLIMA? Test for this by pulling the KLIMA, see if the a/c compressor still works? See photo.
Does anyone have a spare cover to sell? I managed to break mine (you can do it too -- just take the cover off, lay it on the air cleaner, slam the hood).  Jeremy
