Maybe just one, at 38 F mine will start easily with one bad GP, but it will miss for a little while. A few weeks ago, my wife drove her 240D with a bad GP for a week before she told me it was starting rough. I would check them before it gets cold.

You can have it! If I had the means I'd spend most of my winters in the Keys or USVI. Christmass is best celebrated on a beach!

I spent a couple of years in Houghton. Beautiful area - wouldn't mind visiting again someday. Do not miss the snow one bit!

Houghton?

Michigan Tech? Were you at school there?

My son says they have about 6" on the ground with more coming. Near blizzard conditions at times.

I picked Kettering in Flint over Mich Tech. One reason was the winters.

Mine started in about 4 seconds of cranking, WITHOUT glowplugs.

And it was 32 F out.

At least the plus side to having all this snow is I will be able to get the SD sideways at some amazing speeds.

Snow and a SWB W126 with an open diff is a horrible combo, but man does that thing do a mean doughnut. Thats about it though, but she will slide backwards amazingly well as a fail to climb the hill we live on.

Eh, I do just fine with the open diff I've done some serious sideways driving, always a thrill! I sustained a spin/doughnut in a perfect sitting-in-one-spot for close to a dozen spins. You can get dizzy!! The weirdest thing I've ever been able to do is go 30ish down a road completely covered with ice at about 2am, so it was just me, I put the brakes on, speedo went to 0, engine idling....I did not slow down at all, so I put it in park for about 3-4 seconds, pretty weird to be going 25-30mph while idling in park!!! And it held a perfectly straight line the entire time, freeeaky. Our street is a big hill, but I've only not made it up a couple times, I always make it on my second try.

Must be your driving. I think that my SWB 126 is one of the best-handling cars I've driven. Like Pawo said, it is super predictable, it just goes straight down the road when you lock up! And, as far as getting around with an open diff, I left a basketball game last winter (20 of December). We got a surprise blizzard that night. I drove home (about 8 miles) through snow so deep it was DRAGGING (not simply brushing) on the floorboards! Tracked straight as an arrow all the way. Maybe those Goodyear Assurance TripleTreds help!

I'm in Charlottesville, VA and it dropped below freezing last night. Needless to say, my car did not start this morning. I have delvac 15w 40 in it right now and the batteries and glow plugs should not be an issue but i can test them out. I'm thinking its the starter but im not sure how to chekc this out. Also I might just put a block heater on it becuase I'm getting tired of not having relaible transportation every time it gets cold outside.

My grandfather has my car right now. I wonder if it will start for him.

I have his 2003 Buick with heated seats until Sunday.

Hey, I was there a couple of months ago. Drove there to see Monticello.

Beautiful place and home to one of my heros.
