It's actually a lift pump or primer pump. It' located on the side of the injection pump.

The nomencleture utilized in the 617.95 Service Manual is "fuel pump."

I used brass reducers and connectors for my set up. I got them at Home Depot, where all the fitting are for installing a water connection for the fridge. I am not so sure if PVC can stand up to the constant vibrations the diesel engine.
I do not know how brass reacts with WVO. It seems to be ok with B100. Time will tell.

I've installed a water separator on my 300sd. Seems to be working fine. Do you install the primary filter before or after the water separator? The previous pics in this thread have it before entering the water separator.

photos?

I can't see the photos of where the placement of the FM 100 is bolted to. Does anyone have some photos. The spot I was thinking of... behind the driver-side head light is 11" tall. I think I need more than than that with a 4.3" element, water bowl and a top load 100 W heater.

If space is an issue, the water bowl can be eliminated with little consequence.

I wanted to keep the water bowl to see if there is free water and emuslified water in the fuel... so I don't use it in the VW, which has an so-so water seperator. It is nothing like the Stanadyne FM 100, 30 micron element.

I clicked on the link button (a red X in my browser) with no results. I copied the image site address for the jpeg with no results either.
