i like the looks of a red benz but never was comfortable owning one.

i like to drive under the radar and red is too attention getting from the constables.

I refuse to buy the Astral Silver (early 80s silver) because it's blah to me, and I've passed on a few nice cars that were dark brown.

I like my Cabernet, except for the clear coat issues. The Palamino goes good with that color, dark blue, or black, IMHO.

I have a white 240D 77 with beige interior, my favorite. The colors that I do not like in the these earlier diesels are the baby blue and the diaper green.

i'd pass on any 123 MB with a green interior.. just not really my favorite color for the interior.. then followed by a red interior.

For the exterior.. i dont like the light green colors of 123 MBs... or the orange ones..

Sinister black

My 300CD is black on black. I doubt that they made very many in this color combination as I have never seen another one. The black ones I've seen have had palomino interior.

That said - I love the look of black on black but it gets a big thumbs-down for practicality, particularly here in the steamy South with retrofited R134 A/C.

All the issues with black cars - heat, no garage, difficult to keep clean, etc., etc., etc. but I was not going to pass over the car on account of its color. It has its share of dings and dents but still looks pretty good when freshly waxed.

My favorite color is grey - I think it's called anthracite grey with black interior. Very cool.

I have a "78" 4 spd, 240D that is "pastel gray" with a black interior. I really like that combo. Its sitting in the barn waiting for an engine.

No paint shines as deeply as a thick, rich, clean, reflective, glossy MB Lacquer. For this reason I prefer rich colors of all tones from dark to light with contrasting interiors.
