I replaced mine with a Hirschmann DRP-11 3-wire. I used three wires, the ground, hot, and hot with dash switch in center or left (auto or up) position. This allows me to have the radio on with the antenna down if necessary (car wash etc.), works great, always retracts with car or radio off.

Do you have the ability to stop the antenna at any position or is it just up or down with the switch?

I know that with factory antenna you should be able to fine tune the antenna height with the switch.

Just up or down.

It will work as an automatic antenna, full up, unless the dash switch is in the down position then it will stay down (or go down if it is up when switched).

I would have opted for the original setup if I found one, but since I had this antenna sitting in a box it was a quick swap. I did not alter the wiring from the original antenna so that I can restore it to complete original if I ever find a source for the relay board on the original antenna and get so motivated, ...

The only reason I like being able to leave the antenna down is so that it doesn't go up and down an extra time for each start during the glow cycle. I hate wearing things out for no reason.

I've had some sucess. I have radio reception for the first time. Note: I found a 9volt battery handy when testing the motor and taking up the teather while the unit was out of the car. I did find power where the switch plugs in. Internals of the switch looked fine but still didn't work. What I did was pull the switch and jumpered the harness to use the #1 and #3 to move the antenna. If I applied power it would go up. As soon as I removed it it went back down. So I popped the trunk left the jumpers connected until the antenna was fully extended and pulled the plug at the unit so it wouldn't come back down. It was clicking once it reached the top until I pulled the plug. One thing I learned from this is that irregardless of the switches simplicity I have no skill in making them work again. I pulled the dome light, as well, to check it and found yet another circuit board. Thats when my VOM failed so I called it a night.
