Nope. The gearing on all MBZ transmissions (well ones we generally deal with) is the same. The only thing that changes is the gearing on the rear diff and the gearing in the speedo itself.

2.88 in a 123 was a 85 thing only. 126's do have 2.88 but I believe the have electronic speedos.

I think your flex discs are incorrectly installed. The engine rotates clockwise and the trans flange should be dragging, not pushing, the flex disc around by the thick part of the flex disc. Same with the diff.

Makes sense.... but I set it up in the original factory position and looking at other pics on the forum it is the same.

New disk

Original Setup.

Note same position.

Other pics from the forum and notice position of flex disk.

From R Leo

From Brandon314159

From Diesel Giant

I am actually taking down a tranny today in a friends 300D, I can take more pictures.

Yes flush and fill with Mobil1 synthetic, didn't do much with the noise..

Searching for a 3.69 diff.

I have a 3.07 in my 300TD and with the mountain driveways we have to climb, I'd like to give the wagon some mountain goat gears. We rarely ever go 70mph. There is never a strong enough breeze at our back.

If anyone has one, thanks in advance.
