The Wix is a combo filter just like the others, but usually better quality (cord wound bypass section rather than gin trash, for example).

All MBs after the W115 chassis for sure (and earlier for gassers) use combo filters, and yes, the bypass section DOES filter to close to 5 micron.

Depends on which one you get. They do offer one that's a full-flow only filter.

Can you honestly tell me that this filters down to 5 microns? LINK 1 LINK 2 LINK 3. Not possible. The media is too loosely packed, filled with debris, and filled with void pockets. With as low a flow that goes through it, it is almost guaranteed that the oil will find/form channels through the cotton.
