Rebuilt Injectors Source

I just got a set of four rebuilt and tested Bosch injectors from Santa Rosa Diesel. No leaks and my car is running like new. So if you're looking to replace your I'd highly recommend them. They cost 293.80 with a $60.00 core charge but it was worth every penny.

Now I've gotta go drive around town...

Hey that's my town, whereabouts do you live?

Never heard of those guys. I think my injectors are fine though.

Do they time IP pumps?

Re: Injectors

I'm actually in Philadelphia, but I heard about them from an MBCA member. As far as I can tell they are a full service shop, give them a call nice people. My old injectors had my car running like crap. Surging in drive when cold, nailing issues, poor starting. It sounds like an entirely different car now, I wish I had made recordings before and after. I spent the better part of last night driving the local highways doing 75 just for kicks (hey it's a '75 240D Auto). I'm sure a lot of the forum members agree that if you're going to buy remanufactured injectors better to get them from a diesel repair/test shop than one of these online catalog parts places.

It's a 1975 240D

Yeah the Bosio's are $29.50 through Kermatdi but that's just the nozzle and not a completely rebuilt and tested injector body with new nozzles. Unless you have the means to pressure test those suckers it's a gamble that things will go smoothly. I had tried just swapping out my older nozzles with Bosio's and the problem got worse. Sure I could have spent the time building a pressure tester, rebuilding them etc. Then I'd be wasting time waiting for parts and in the time spent I could be making money with my business. It was an easy call, get injectors, remove old ones, start car... 15 minutes of my time.

By the way here's the link to Kermatdi if you do want the Bosio nozzles only:

Seems like the nozzles are the only operable part of the injector. Mine are great. No leaks and I'd have to believe they are set correctly, else why bother?

If its nailing, you bother. I had one visually bad one, and the local diesel tech found 2 bad out of the six. Just ordered six nozzles from the local MBz parts guy at $28 ea.

Not true, the injectors need to be pressure tested and adjusted with shims. New nozzles will not single handily cure a problem.

Precisely

Just what you need, a faulty injector and a hole burned in a piston, it's been known to happen.

I took five injectors to a Bosch authorized service shop. They tested all for $60. New Bosch nozzles ran me $20.00 each. There is, are, spring, springs and shims inside. If they test okay, no need to replace.

Yikes! I'd rather find a used set and have them tested and balanced for much less.

I am on the way taking my injectors to the Bosch shop to have them tested and rebuilt if necessary. Wish me luck.
