Im really in a bind on this one. I cant roll my driver side front window down on my 82 240d. Took a close look at it today, and saw some physically broken parts so while waiting for a new one, I pushed the window closed and "rolled" up the window to hold the glass in place.

Closed the door, tried to lock it, and it would not lock - key would not turn. I took a closer look in the door panel, and couldnt find anything that would prevent me from locking the door. I tried again, and I think I may have used too much force . I heard a slight "snapping" sound and now when I try to unlock the door, the key just turns in circles, freely turning but not locking/unlocking anything. I also can not push down on the door lock knob to lock the door.

So now I have no way to lock my car and I am not in the best area of town as far as car break-ins. And I have no idea what the part is I broke, where to get one, and how to replace it.
