temperature sensor location?
Where is it on my 83 300D turbo? There are 2 sensors on the passenger side of the head. The one near the fire wall measures open circuit so is not a temp sensor (probably an overtemp switch). The one near the water pump shows resistance measurement and looks like it could be the temp sensor but when i remove the connector to it and turn the key on, the temp reading does not change so I don't think it is the temp sensor. If it is not, then where is it?

It may be that extra looking plug thing between injector #2 and #3 GP's. PM me for pic.

After seeing a pic of the water temp sender
http://catalog.worldpac.com/mercedesshop/sophio/wizard.jsp?partner=mercedesshop&clientid=catalog.mercedesshop&baseurl=http://catalog.peachparts.com/&cookieid=23B13WNO423B1FBFMW&year=1983&make=MB&model=300-CDT-001&category=All&part=Water+Temperature+Sender I see that it is the one near the water pump. I think I was having some weird electrical issues that I was not aware of earlier, which led to the mis i.d. of the water temp sender.
