Its a pig with lipstick, pimped by a classic old school used car salesman.

On my 81 300sd the trim on the headrest is also brown, but only on the sides that get sunlight. I think they just get sunburned brown.

Very impressive detective work, and very impressive results.
They took Capone down on tax evasion. I wonder if this guy's financials are in order.....
Would love to turn him into somebody!

From that post you get this sellers phone number "727-459-6508". If you google the phone number you get this result:

This first entry is to a dead thread, but the cache link to the thread gives you this (see picture also):

That link has the email address of "deutschemotoren@yahoo.com" - which is just about also shown in the subject ebay listing of this thread.

There is an address shown of: 2631 6th Ave South St Petersburg FL 33712

Google maps satellite image of this address shows the second image below:

So - if you want call the Florida law enforcement entities responsible for regulating this type of behavior, here is what you need to do it.

I am not advocating that anyone do anything illegal!

I wonder if he's conscious that he is getting so much (negative) attention from people who know more about his cars than he does....

Someone could e-mail him a question with this thread linked to it. He probably would not care anyway.

I already did last night. I'm kind of interested to see if he will defend his cars.

I emailed him about how he can substantiate service records with no book to prove it, and he told me that he got that knowlege from the previous owner. Do you think I believe him?,.....hum.

It is an internet Legend. But all true. Have you been "Wentzled"?

Utterly incredible but true: Here is the actual thread

http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=399203

E-fraud can be punished horribly.

This 18 yr old scammer guy sold some parts on a 4x4 forum, cashed the check and then asked for more money.

Then, he sent used parts instead of the new ones he advertised.
Then baited the buyer and wouldn't refund the money. Just over a $25 difference..

THEN THE FUN BEGAN. THE FORUM MEMBERS RUINED HIS LIFE

The story within days went to over 600 forums, the original thread had over 750,000 hits on a 73 page thread before it got locked..

His banking information was disclosed, with his ebay ID and feedbacks, residential address, pictures of his home on Google Earth, Height, weight, pictures of his truck with license plate number, Pictures of his parents, sister, photoshops of his picture, credit history, threats of a group meeting and personal beatdown, information about his mortgage, tax on his house, MySpace Account created, posts to local Craigslist, local newspapers notified, T shirts and bumperstickers sold on CafePress, and links to his job at work, and school, WIKIPEDIA, Frapper and Urban Dictionary.

If this Mercedes Diesel seller is a scammer, he should read up on this.

That link is a blast - I just spent hours reading it. Maybe this guy will try the user name "Wenzeler" once is negative feedback gets too outta hand. That name would fit!

I in no way advocate the actions referenced or anything else illegal in that link.

Freak show

You guys know so much about these cars that you should open up your own freak show. I'm amazed at the level of detail you guys catch. Dangh. Submitted respectfully because I don't want you coming after me. Sheesh. MB gods all of you. I'm simply not worthy.

Question Bummer!

Hey guys, I'm new to the MB world and was excited about getting my first MB. Glad I did my homework because I almost bought one of the cars being sold by the FL scammer ... However, I'm still looking for a 560SEL with a burgundy exterior/red leather interior and cannot find it anywhere.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to a reliable place to shop for my dream car??

Thank you all!
