Not to shabby ,currently I use the upgraded 2 cup holder variety of that same brand ,it will sit in the center console abit losely and you can jettison your drink with a stiff apply of the brake .I like yours for its out of the way approach and if it spills ,an oh well ,location.I figure in the near future we will have an ice and soft drink dispenser ,the cup will be a perment reservoir underneath the cold beverage dispenser and a long stray will be your supply tube .Man ,I need to get this on American Inventors ,Pronto.

I like this idea, thanks for reviving it....I drive 45 minutes to work (one way)....no way I'm making that trip without coffee, despite the German's original design intentions.

Right now, I have a stupid plastic cupholder screwed down on a scrap 2x4 (cut the length of the center console). I found the cupholder in the trunk, left by the PO when I bought it. Simple and crude.....real classy too.

But this new idea will undoubtedly pimp my ride and keep my hazard switch clean.

My preferred cup holder. The cheap over the window type.
Arm cut off and slipped under the center console and screwed
with a very short screw into the kick panel.

I've been meaning to post this for a few weeks but keep forgetting to take a picture: The cup holders for a Land Rover Discovery (or 1995 Range Rover Classic) are perfect for the W123 and probably most others too. The mount on the center console near the shifter with one screw (or maybe some double sided tape if you don't want to put a hole in your car. I prefer the older style ones which are smaller, but the mega gulp ones they came out with for the Series II Discovery may work too.

I'll try to remember to take a pic this afternoon....
