I'm new to MB and Diesels. Where to start?

Hey all, I'm new to MB and diesels. I just bought an 82 300 CD and was wondering if I should and where to get a shop manual. I have the parts catalog, "Catalog K", that originally came with the car but that doesn't really illuminate the functions of parts.

I guess I don't really know what I'm asking other than I'd appreciate any advice on how to better educate myself on my Mercedes Benz diesel. Oh, and where do I get those Euro headlights?
