I have 16's, supposidly "performance" tires as well. I wish they made SP9000's in my size ahhh! I need to find a decent rear tire, I can use either 225/55/16's or 245/50/16's. I think I'm going to do 245's in the rear next, they will look better.

The stockers are a joke, I can light those up all day long. 195/14 isn't a tire, its a spare.

I'd run 18in AMG's that are 275 or 285's if they would fit. I need to get a W140 or R129 to get some actual meat on the ground. The rears would rub like SOB's with those tires on a W126 without self leveling.

Ever since I put the boost controller on my car it has been difficult to drive in the wet. What makes it really bad is that is NOT LSD. On a rainy day if I peg it from a standstill it will just spin the right rear. It REALLY gets scary trying to take a corner in the wet. Especially getting on a highway ramp.

In the dry the other day it chirped the right rear going into 2nd. I try to stay out of it, I hate lying on my back trying to fix things.

At the risk of sounding like a spoiled ricer-child:

My father's E300 TD would light them up with a little brake action. Nice, smooth burnout. However, his E320 CDI is just so effortless with it. Nicest wheel-spinning action I've done with the CDI was when I was stuck in traffic on a 3-lane highway. I allowed a bit of space between the car in front and myself, turned the wheel full-left, ASR off, tip it into first gear, check mirrors, give it the full boot. It made a graceful arc across the two lanes & I was headed back in the direction I came from with wisps of white smoke coming off the rears. I was pleased with myself, but more than impressed with that car. It does everything so well.

And no, I don't live with my parents. I just can't afford a new MB.

It's not hard to squeal the tires. I'm helping a mechanic diagnose a Fiat Doblo. It has a 1.4 jtd engine, about 80hp. When I first drove the car it wouldn't go more than 30kph in 1st gear. After an italian tune it can go to 100kph. I checked it with my g-tech pro and it has about 50hp at the wheels as it is. I can squeal the tires in first and second. It's not really squealing but just chirping.

1992 Mercedes 190D 2.5 turbo 5sp manual. EGT+boost gauges. Boost controller set to ~14.5 psi. 1 1/4 turns on full load adjustment. LPG injection. Next in the list is water injection.

I used to do stuff like that....You could really light them up and slide that rear end in any direction you wished. Then I thought about things such as "disturbing the peace", excessive tire wear, a melted differential, worthless automatic transmission, and just being a genuine ********* and danger to everyone around me.

If you're going to do it, do it when nobody else is around, and don't be afraid of the cost should something go wrong.

That said, I just took a girl out in the 350SDL the other day, put her to the floor and gave her everything I had....

Oh yeah, and I raced the car, too.

Usually when I think about doing it I have those things go through my mind as well. Thats why I generally don't do it....mainly only snow donuts....but thats way way less strain in the car.

I had Toyo's on my car too... SUCK in the rain. I couldn't believe how easily it would light them up and go out of control (ass end hanging out to the side on a corner). My new Firestones make me feel like I lost power. No more burnouts until parts are installed
