We do, but its in Lansing....68 miles away. None here in Grand Rapids. It used to be near when diesel was >$3 a gallon. Now that it costs $22 to do a round trip its a bit steep. I can remember when it was $10!

I have bought shop towels for 89 cents a roll and a USA industries starter and alternator from them. They have very good prices. (good enough to warrant a drive there for such a part)

Does the 2930 qualify for the special price?

I have not checked my local Kragen, will do that tomorrow. The ad says that "filters up to $5.99 regular retail" are two for $7 -- the 2930 that fits the 617 is usually $11 or $12 so we may be stuck with the "alternate" price of "$2 off." That isn't much of a bargain.

Pep Boys have had "2 for $7" sales that do include the 2930. I picked up several earlier this year. They typically have four 2930s on the shelf and I buy all of them.

When you're buying the Fram 2930, look inside the box at the filter itself and make sure that there's a little painted "Made in Turkey" on the top. These filters have been found made in other countries and they aren't necessarily the same.

I once opened up a German filter (don't remember the brand) and indeed found it full of junk. Strange and disturbing.

Yes, it is important to check each one and make sure they are made in Turkey. Otherwise they are junk like the rest. Someone needs to contact Fram and commend them for making such a good filter and to keep it up!

I've been buying a stock of the Turkish Fram filters as well, against the possibility of the next time I go to change the filter not being able to buy them.

If you look at the openings on the side of the Fram 2930, you can even see the cotton bag that they bundle the string inside, giving you a decent idea that they are still maintaining the same quality as when the pictorial was done of all the cut up filters.

Picked up two beautiful Fram filters at Kragen, on sale for $11/each. Not the cheapest, but worth it if they don't have all the crap in them that the others do.

Most of the kragens here hire young (my age) looney's that dont even read the small print just see the big 2 for $7 and charge $7 for the $11 filters. So give it a try!

Interesting.. I failed to spot that stipulation... I think that is what happened to me because I paid 7 bucks for two a few days ago.
