Your Auxillary pump is buried back there? Mine is on the fender well underneath the air filter where it can be easily reached. I've never seen a Aux pump placed there before. Did you relocate it for some reason?

Do yourself a huge favor and remove the battery and the removable section of the forward firewall. Makes the job 1/10 as difficult.

yeah, I wish it was in the same place as on a 300D....oh well.

I will at least remove the battery, not sure if I want to un-do the false bukhead though, I'll decide when I am actually working on it, but I will probably unbolt and move it over a little.

I still don't get why it did not blow my 1A fuse I put in there. Kinda odd. It needs to be replaced either way, as it made bad sounds for a long time....

And speaking of monovalves, check out this W126 EURO monovalve....must only be on certain cars, the one I pulled from a euro 500sel in the u-pick was identical to the US version. From the looks of it I am thinking its a "dual" monovalve for independent driver/passenger heat selections. Pretty nifty, and probably SUPER expensive to replace.

One thing I need to do and everyone should be aware of if your going with a monovalve replacement like my setup. Install a one way vacuum valve in the line so vacuum cannot reverse when you shut the engine off!

If you don't, your engine will not shut down like it's supposed to if you just shut down the climate control and turn the motor off at the same time!

The vacuum from the heater valve will return into the line to the vacuum pump and accessories and neutralise the shut down procedure!

If you shut off the climate control and wait a few seconds before turning the motor off, no problem!
