well it's junked. we had to get it out my indy's lot as he had no space and more cars coming next week for repair.
somewhere there is going to be a great parts car....

we couldn't even open the hood to try and get some parts it was folded up and would have needed a crowbar to get open

+ it was below zero windchill factor out there today so no easy task working outdoors.
about all i could snag was the cd/radio which was new and the good working climate control unit with the wood trim to go along with. (i'll post some of the parts i have leftover in the parts forum in case anyone's interested)

plus we busted off the star for a momento

oh and despite it losing most of the oil from the busted oil cooler the indestructable 617 engine still still started right up as we moved it into position for the tow truck...

oh well another w123 bites the dust... it's such a shame though...

we picked up a '95 vw golf for cheap today... so my son has a winter beater to get to school in.....

Did you say 10mph??

I didnt think you could bend that tiger tank like that @ 10mph. Guess it hit above the bumper, something even more immovable, huh?

Sorry man, but it did its job up till the last day. Those old benz's are tanks, Id surely get another.

Best of luck.

Had to be a jacked up SUV, it looks like it didn't even touch your bumper.

too bad it didnt hit the bumper, the bumper shock could have saved this car from the junkyard

If it was a lifted truck you hit, I would be on them for some of the damage. If the bumper of the truck was at the legal height there would have been little to no damage.

Looks like it could have been repaired, above the bumper might not have
been into the body structure. what a shame, beautiful car. some of you
back east should have jumped on it.

my son said 10... methinks more like 30mph..

they hit a jeep cherokee not lifted or anything.
wrong place wrong time. the structure of the front end was badly bent as well
as the drivers side fender. oh for want of a few inches lower and all would be different.

Yeah, there's no way that car would have suffered that much damage at 10MPH...no way.

That had to be faster than 10mph. I rear ended a car the other day at somewhere between 5-10mph (icy roads downhill, someone stopped for a jogger at the bottom). No damage to the SD, and just a scratch on his bumper.
