Stupid question - do I have a leak?

Folks-

I just replaced my return lines on a 93 2.5T 300D (5 cyl 602 engine). I had a new viton line split due to a barb on the injector nipple I caused from removing the old line. (thanks to Jim at fryerpower for pointing this out). Long story short, I had a fuel leak mess on the 3rd injector area. I have put a new line on after I fixed the sharp barb and the returns no longer leak. Took it for a test drive and now I seem to have a leak around the injector where it contacts the cylinder head surface. On this engine, there is some sort of outside cover that the injector passes through. This shield is black and seems like plastic or fiber-like and sits down on the cylinder like a flat flange. Now there are bubbles of fuel coming out around that cover where it seats on the head. First thought, maybe I just have leftover fuel inside this cover from my big leak and it is purging it out. (only drove about 10 miles to warm the motor up since the big leak). However if this is correct, why is there pressure causing it to bubble out from under this flange cover thing? Perhaps it is a bonafide leak as well. Anyone got any thoughts on my situation?? Is there any kind of seal o-ring, gasket etc in this set-up. I find that a new 'leak' on the same injector that I had the return problem on immediately afterwards to be too coincidental but would like advice. It isn't a major amount of liquid coming out but more like air bubbles that are definitely wet with fuel. Help!!
