Not starting: just a click and nothing

So after I replaced the fuel lines I couldn't get her to fire on, but she at least wanted to try. She would turn over, now she doesn't even do that.

So I give up for the night, and it's 43 degrees outside at night. So in the morning I try again and know when I go to start it up, she just clicks once and thats it. The motor doesn't even want to turn over.

I double checked all my fuel lines and I just have the biodiesel side hocked up so I'm only going off biodiesel. The biodiesel is ASTM and the cloud point is 32 degrees. So I know it's not that. It must be something I damaged last night attempting to start her up.

This is my other post about the fuel lines.

Could be the starter?

Thats what happened to my brothers pickup and car when the starter died. It's probably not it though.

Weak battery or bad electrical connection (especially engine block to chassis ground). Put a battery charger on for a few hours or overnight, try again. Once you can get the engine to crank, you can work on the fuel problem (air in the new lines, etc.).

The car is in park, and the battery is fully charged. I went out and purchased a new battery charger, and charged the battery over night. I also attempted to start her up in "N". But didn't work. I'm hoping I didn't fry my starter.

It should be here tomorrow at noon. And I'll start work on it soon.

So I didn't see this spelled out, but I'm guessing the car started, or at least cranked well, before you messed with the fuel lines. Unless there's just a strange coincidence that right after you replaced fuel lines your car, all of a sudden, won't crank.

You probably should check over everything before resorting to buying a new starter...they're so freakin' expensive and a minor pain to install. I just hate getting under the car that far...especially because that area is prone to a ton of dried grease crap that definitely always gets in your eyes...

Anyway, check the ground strap at the starter, and if you install a new one, don't forget to clean it up well so you'll never have to mess with it again or wonder if it's the cause of a weird problem you may encounter.

Also, typically when your car just clicks, there's just a bad connection at the battery. Check the cables and if they're good, I'd say take your battery to autozone and have it tested. If all this turns out good, take your starter off and take it to the autozone and have it tested finally. From there you'll know if you need a new starter or not. And you'll have the core ready if so.

Good luck. I hope its really not the starter as its cold out (where I am at least) and starters are never fun.
