NYC area people ...Need Help.............

The Automatic Tranny in my 1983 300sd is slipping very bad, the car doesn't move at all in any direction. It could be a broken B2 piston, but I haven't checked that yet, and I'm not so sure thats the culprit.

I want my car back on the road, but my finances couldn't be worse. My mechanic said a rebuild would set me back over $1000. I just can't do it.

Is anyone parting out a car that has a good transmission?

Automatic or 4 speed, I could go with either. ( I guess no is a good time to do the conversion I've been wanting to do.)

I want to save the car, I don't want to part with it, but if no one comes up with anything I'm going to have to sell it. I don't want to.

If any of you guys around here are up to doing the job, let me know. It's too cold this time of year for me to work outside. I don't have a garage. I wish this happened in the summer.
