New Glow plugs 2.2 n/a diesel

This past fall I replaced the glow plugs in my 84 190 diesel and wanted to share with you folks what I've found now that winter is well in hand. I put in a set of (hold your breath for a dirty word) Champion glow plugs. I was interested to see how they worked on a cold day since they are rated at 175 watts not the standard 140 watts of the bosch and beru. Up in our town I have to special order either of those brands and I needed to get the plugs replaced. Anyhow, so far they are firing the engine just fine down to 0 degrees farenheit with only cycling the glow plugs one which has been a real delight to me. I'm waiting for a good cold snap to happen, hopefully on one of my days off, so I can unplug the block heater and give the plugs a shot at firing in the minus double digits. I'll be happy to keep the info posted for those interested. Have a great day and enjoy the New Year everybody.

Jim
