Problem is not the kick-down switch...

1983 300CD

WIth ignition on, the solenoid doesn't operate (click) when pushing the kick-down switch.

1. Kick-down switch tests OK with an ohm meter.

2. Two wires go to the kick-down switch; the Black/Yellow/Red wire has 12v. The Black wire has 0v. Touch them together - nada.

3. Further testing reveals that the black wire is not connected to ground

4. When I connect the Black/Yellow/Red wire to Ground the transmission solenoid operates OK

Anyone know the location where the Black wire from the kickdown switch terminates?

Cheers!
