Possesed seat switch

It's not consistant, and I can't make the car do it, but every once in a while my driver seat makes an abrupt adjustment without me touching the door seat control.

I'm sure this is because I had the door panel off recently to replace the sagging door pull handle - must have jarred a contact?

Only time I might be able to induce the seat spasm is but hitting the window switch on the console, or slamming the door shut (at least looking into the window from the outside I'm pretty sure I caught it moving).

I rebuilt (well, really just cleaned up the innards) the switch about a year ago, but I don't think it is the adjustments - maybe the memory preset?

What does the forum think - New switch? Try dissassemble and clean again?

has this issue on the psgr seat of my 83 SD. it would move very slightly with a click at random times - drove me mad.

Seat switch was not centering properly after use

squirt of WD40 did the trick in my case

Some times this happens because the wires at the door hinge have started to come apart and short against the door frame and sending the signal to the seat motors.

Wow, is this an english quiz?

Gerund is spelled wrong.
"MY" should not be capitalized, it should be italicized for emphasis.
"i" should be capitalized.
"84 model" is not a sentence.
"should i enter the ebonics fray..." missing a question mark, etc.

So...

Sounds like a squirt of contact cleaner, check the door hinge area (or insulate)......or new switch (which I found out is not too bad - $85.

Closing the thread

Put in a new seat switch from the dealer - no issues whatsoever after a month. Seems to have solved the issue.
