Yep........one of them is definitely not staying around..........Hattie, oh Hattie...........???
Don't sell anything for a couple of months I need to get my finances in order. But seriously let me know, I have been after that other one for years as you know. But this one sounds like it may be nicer, heck I'd buy it with the shot head as is.

Casey,
Glad to know all is well at home.
At a woman, I can understand completely with her side after you went into more detail. I've been like that too. Maybe after you get her a big shiny diamond (I have a two carat-but it's FAKE-I refuse to give my money to DaBeers) then you can get another MB to drive. Maybe one that only needs minor work and you only work on it one or two days a month AFTER you take the daughter to the zoo and the wife to Outback for dinner. So some nice romantic Italian place.

Anyway, glad to know it all worked out.

Now, Brian. . .
you posting here when an SDL is avail?

awww

Cool thread, well, sort of. A man parted with his diesel brings me great pain but I can understand your move. I sometimes wonder how close my wife is to issuing a similar edict. As fanatical as we all are......your dad gave you very sound advice and it's my opinion that you made the right choice. Relationships are more important than material things....even more than impeccably built, beautiful, durable, timeless, over-engineered works of german art that can never be replaced. Ooops, never mind.

I'm glad to hear the car went to a loving home though.

And how poignant to quote Dickens as your bade farewell to your mistress......as many of us on here have followed the first mistaken impulses of an undisciplined heart. Although it sounds like Brian pulled an Oliver Twist on you.

I might just have to drive one to Florida. Are you serious? I've been looking at a one owner 300SDL with service records. Dash is perfect. Toupe exterior (beautiful color, by the way).

I've often dreamt of that car. When I wake up it is gone.

My 78 is that dream car. $2500 (awesome condition- perfect body, perfect interior-could have driven across the country several times the day I bought her) and never needed anything for the first two years except maintenance. Has only needed an ACC amp, new glows and now needs a motor mount. Under $1000 I've spent in the 3 years I've had her. Three years and 13 days I've had her.
