It's kind of ironic that all of the big "American" beer companies were started by German immigrants (Busch/Budweiser, Miller, Coors, Pabst, Schlitz, Hamms, etc.) who came here to brew their style beer yet are generally poo-poo'd by beer afficianados.
I wonder if the beer has changed over the centuries? Was Schlitz in the late 1800's THE beer to drink or was it the novelty?
