no bowden cable?
working on getting shifting right...my 1981(maybe 1982?) 300d non turbo euro does not have bowden cable...haven't found much on the subject but think i read this year would not have bowden cable...so to work on trans shifting smoother it is just checking vacuum to modulator on trans and then turning modulator for best shifting?...right now it's shifting a little hard and little late...i have read the articles on vacuum and trans and have been a great help..just want to make sure no bowden is correct...thanks everyone!!

you are right i have a 81 and they have no bowden cable. First make sure you have no vacuum leaks anywhere else because most likely the settings are fine and you are just loosing vacuum somewhere else. after i plugged the line that goes to my central locking system my trans shifted just fine. But yes no Bowden cable.

thanks to everyone helping me with figuring out vacuum, shifting issues...i have removed the 3/2 valve(was holding vacuum fine) from the equation and it seems to shift fine..and i can get exact reading on VCV(have it set from 12hg to 0hg)...thought 3/2 valve was necessary because there is no bowden cable on 1981 300d non turbo but it seems to just give me too high of reading to try and dial trans modulator in...i ended up turning trans modulator back 1 full rotation...seems to be shifting fine...so i guess no need for valve on valve cover,,,thanks everyone!!
