I just have to ask, is this a MB shop or is it a shop that has not done this on a MB before? That price including an alignment is not much more than I spent on parts to do the job. If it is not a MB shop I would get in writing before they started so they don't start increasing the price.

I do have it in writing and I asked how long the estimate was good for. He said 30 days. They are a very reputable shop in town, specializing in suspension components for everything from a tractor trailer to a passenger car. Not necessarily specializing in MB but they said they can do my car.

Ask how much to do the upper ball joints at the same time. The price is VERY good. I had a tire store say they could do my lower joints for $1200.00

Thats not a bad price. Its cheaper and more fun to do it with some buddies and spend half the savings on beer. I do not recommend the harbor freight ball joint press. IMHO they are not safe, mine actually broke.

I had one of the uppers replaced soon after I bought the car along with the tie rod ends and steering dampner.

Excellent price like others stated.

Are you going to do the lower control arm bushings too? If the balljoints are done, chances are the rubber LCA bushings are pretty much done too.

I just replace LCA bushings, UCA's and ball joints. also 1 tie rod- the other was new last fall. and the brake stay rod bushings on the LCA.

ran about $350 parts.

now the only things left on the front end is the brake stay bar cans, drag link, and stabilizer.(I did a new sway last spring)

Call one of the local ice distributors that deliver commercially. Sometimes, looking in the yellow pages for "ice" will give results.

I have easy access to it at work. You may want to try a local gas/propane distributor.

Most grocery stores have it, party stores will certainly have it.
