One good reason to have a Diesel--in case the Pump lines start.

Pls dont take this the wrong way, if the Pump lines start, my heart will be broken. I would probably just ride a 600 cc motorcycle/ take public transportation out of respect.

I already am doing my part by driving a $500 Paseo that gets 34 mpg all around town--why? I took out the passenger seat, rear seat, spare tire and shed about 80 pounds.

However if i do need to drive a long ways, you can always count on Diesels to have a short line.

Its funny. in the summer when the lines really build on the NJ TURNPIKE from summer vacationers---I always remember my faithful Diesel--at most one car or none ahead of me in line, whereas elsewhere the lines had 8 to 12 cars a piece...

I hope the pump lines DO start, its really the only way to force lower consumption.

at the 7-11 gas stop. It was $84.95. What behomoth drank that? he he my little Paseo filled up for 31$, that will get me 10 days.

Sometimes on the highway I take a second look at the huge SUV's with GASP one driver , no passenger, rolling along....

I actually got this car by accident for my daughter for $500. But she drives on the highways a lot and I was terrified she would be flattened so I took it away...and one day I started it using it myself.real reason I took out the interior was so I could fit big things in it. I mean its a wee bit of a car..its great to have a bang up car you dont have to sweat where you park it or if someone will hit it..

*shrug* That's only 24 gallons at $3.50/gal. The w126 holds that much.

Our two tank pickup holds more than that if we run both tanks down.

I put $82.50 in the Benz this weekend.

I'm not for any long lines. I saw the other two first hand and it was miserable and totally unnecessary.

All of the car diesel pumps around here are mixed in with the gasoline pumps. People often stop at them even if they don't need diesel fuel even when there are free gasoline-only pumps. I end up waiting now. If lines form, I won't have any advantage.

When western civilization comes crashing down you will have the advantage of being able to fill up with used motor oil and tranny fluid from everyones trashed suv's and sedans. Just make sure you drive fast wherever you go, you need to dodge those flying bricks

This irritates me more than just about any of my other pet peeves. it's just people not thinking about others and the fact that that odd looking pump might actually be used by some individuals.

I always fill up at the truck island wherever there is one. If there aren't trucks waiting to use it, that is.

Yes, thats why I fill up at a truck stop. Not only is it high traffic (for fresh fuel) but I don't have to wait for any gas hogs.

I love puttering around my garage tinkering.. with fuel this high it gets expensive just to get out to a yard

What ticks me even more is when gassers use the combo pumps when there are other gas only pumps available. There have been a couple of times when I had to lean out the window and educate them

Matt - but you are probably like me LISTENING carefully for fuel comming to the top sound. I have learned - they will not shut off fast enough and you cannot release trigger quick enough to avoid diesel shower
