Matt - but you are probably like me LISTENING carefully for fuel comming to the top sound. I have learned - they will not shut off fast enough and you cannot release trigger quick enough to avoid diesel shower

I always run it down to empty before I fill up so I watch the gallon counter and slow down when I think I'm close.

I've had one or two splashbacks but I always stand at a right angle to the filler anyway, to avoid such incidents.

Just read on the Dieselstop forum some So.Cal diesel pickup owners are crossing the border to Mexico and filling up on their $2.00 a gallon diesel. I wonder what Mexican reg.unleaded is going for?

I dont care what mex quality is, these things can burn organic vegetable oil, i dont think it matters. As long as its called diesel and made of petroleum distillates

I don't think Mexican fuel is of any issue anymore. There are Mexican fuel stations in California. My dad regularly buys fuel from a company called Valero and he's never had a problem.

It doesn't matter WHAT you put in your tank lately. It all costs an arm and a leg!

Here in Norway, both gas and diesel is around $10/gallon. If I fill up my car when the light comes on, it will cost me around $170..

Play NICE boys!

Getting back to the thread, I just payed sixty bucks for 14 gallons of diesel yesterday in WV! However the 'burban has been going into triple digit fill ups for a while now. I love hogging the gas pump with the truck while the econoboxes have to wait to get their 10 gallons...
I am glad I do not need to haul things from NY to WV any longer and ole Foxy and my wallet can take a break for a few weeks.

I try to fill up at certain truck stops that have a narrow nozzle mixed in with the big nozzle truck pumps. If I need to use the big boy pump, I run it maybe at 1/4 flow to keep the foam down. I also fill it up to the filler cap. It takes me at least five minutes with shaking the car to 'burp' it and waiting for the foam to settle so I can get that last three gallons into the car.

The thread is not about the benefits, or lack thereof, of ULSD.

Stay on topic..........

The fuel in Mexico (high volume fuel docks) is WAY better than it used too be.

Thats but a splash, try dropping $10,000 to fill up a boat. I went for a ride last weekend on a Jefferson, and we were burning 100gph on are little WOT run. Heck I don't think the 24 gallons of fuel my SDL holds would even be enough to prime those engines. Actualy that boat is really good on fuel, if you throttle back to 8 knots it only burns like 15gph.

Glad I like sailboats.

Still we topped off the Swan before it left and that was $500, so sailboats are not really much better...
