But I cant get it back on!

It seesm so easy, but I cannot see to get the tension back in the new belt to get #83 back up to the bolt. The whole cylinder head was removed and I didnt pay much mind to the belt system, however, now a new belt is installed ( lengths seemed about right), and I cannot get the belt tight enough to get #107 back up to # 89.

Guess the dealer could have given me a slightly short belt, eh?

I would double check the diagram in your owners manual as to the proper threading of the belt over and under the pulleys. I know when I did it, it took me a while to figure it out. My manual shows two diagrams, one for the gas version, and one for the diesel version. I would also check to make sure that the hooks on the spring are firmly seated in their respective anchoring points. Good luck!!

You've skipped a turn somewhere Gene.

On my 99, the belt diagram is on the radiator crossmemeber across the front of the engine compartment.
