I ordered some wrenches - just two of the bent Hazet wrenchs off eBay - but while I waited for them to come in I decided to try it out without the Hazet wrenchs. No thank you. I did four valves with regular straight wrenchs and the other four with the Hazet wrenchs. Can it be done with regular wrenchs? Of course, and it would probably be pretty easy if you removed the hard fuel lines and injectors. Is it a whole lot easier to do it with the bent wrenchs? Absolutely. Like Diesel911 said, if you have the right tools you won't hesitate to do the job more often. Note: I did not purchase the valve spring retainer wrench and I didn't think I was going to need it - until I got to the last two valve and the retainers started spinning with the nut. I have a pair of thin channel-locks that I was able to get in there and gently hold the retainer while I rotated the nut - that worked out good. I can see the arguement for buying it, but I think I will pass for now.

From the passenger side the rocker arms are in the way for the most part. When I was struggling through with regular wrenchs I kept wanting to try to get one in from that side but it was too difficult.
