Between two 123's and a total of ten years and 43,000 miles of ownership, I've had 1-4, 8. and 10. 1 and 3 have happened more than once. I've had #7 for the last three years (and three transmissions), but in a W114.

1. Yes, plug the offending vacuum line and it will shut off. Both my cars had this
2.Yep, both cars, related to #1 3. Yes, needed glow plugs or controller, fixed. 4. Sure, they are 32-40 year old cars. Oil cooler lines were the worst for me-Oil pan gasket too. Fixed both 5. Yes, previous owner never cleaned sunroof drains. I did, sealed tracks as best I could and stay dry now. 6. No. Proper lubrication goes a long way. 7. Yes, as I type with the 300d. 240d was a manual. Often stuck in 2nd. 8. Rubber insulators replaced on both of my W123s, braket was never busted. 9. No 10. Normal wear for any vehicle, I replace 2 tie rods on my 240d, drag link on my 300d 11. Nope. Like everyone else says, no cruise control, tach went out, odometer works when it wants to...but we love these cars anyway, right?

Fixed both 5. Yep. Previous owner never cleaned the sunroof drains. Clogged with leaves, dirt, etc. I cleaned them and sealed the tracks as best I could. I pretty much stay dry now. 6. Nope. Proper lubrication goes a long way. 7. Yes, now as I type, an issue with the 300d. Will report in my other post what happens. 240d used to stick in second often (manual) 8. Rubber cushions yes.
