that seller no longer has the auction up on ebay. he either sold out or has not reposted the axles.

Here is the eBay link:

And here is the DIY by Dave Morrison:

W123 A How to, replacing rear axles.

I am about to replace the shafts on our 280E - they're making the dreaded "rattling tin-can" noise....

Dave's most excellent write-up will guide me through the darkness of my ignorance...

I often have problems searching eBay for specific items - a search of 'eBay' for some reason will not include items in 'eBay Motors'.

Why? Beats me! I thought they were all the same...

Whoa!! That's not good feedback!!

Here is another thread regarding supply of driveshafts:

Axles: Replace both or one?

which includes:

"rebuilt axles come from CVJ in denver, $300 shipped to your door for the pair."

and:

"Your local Advance Auto Parts store can order the NCV 48998 (SKU 20870644) for you. The cost is $79.88 each w/regular ground shipping. "

Well, I ordered before reading all your posts. If I had I am not sure I would have ordered there.

Wish me luck.

Many sellers have a 98% or better feed back; this seller has 96 something % + feed back. But what I though was unusual is the he has an awful lot of neutral feed backs. To me a lot of neutrals dose not add up to a lot of satisfied customer.
You are right; you cannot please everyone and he may be selling good products. I posted the site for two reasons: 1-the members can use the site to do their own checks of other sellers 2- It is just information that might help other members decide if they want to do business with that seller.
Even after reading the feedback if I needed some CV axles right now I would think I would buy from him but I would worry over the deal more.

no worries, i was just trying to do the math. a lot of these ebay vendors grew way to fast for their support structure. most of the issues were about communication not quality so on the surfce, to me anyway, I would expect no worse then normal quality but less than normal response time, with patience I think the seller would be fine. if time is of the essence, then it would be a roll of the dice

Smile

I just got my CVJ axles installed. Total with tax and a $100 core charge was $436.09. I'll get the $100 back tomorrow when I give them my cores.

Like my emergency boot repair? It held like that for almost 800 miles of daily use.
