new to CDI

I am new to my 2006 CDI and it is time for an oil and filter change--couls someone tell me where the filter is located on this car and where the dipstick tube is located. I have removed the engine cover and as I look at the engine there is a red cover over what appears to be a dipstick tube on the drivers rear of the engine.......is that it? On the drivers front of the engine is a filter housing next to I believe the power steering resevoir with 29m marking on it ------is hat the oil filter housing? Sorry for the rookie questions search doesn'taddress it and while this is a sweet car it is a little more complicated that my 87 TDT
thanks
joel

Filter looks to be on the driver side (left) front. http://www.detali.ru/cat/oem_mb2.asp?TP=1&F=211026&M=648%2E961&GA=722%2E626&CT=M&cat=63T&SID=18&SGR=060&SGN=02

I believe the dip stick tube is on the front right; I do not think there is a dip stick present on an 06. Oil level is prob checked from the dash.

Your owners manual will provide the oil quantity, spec (is either 229.5 or 229.51?) and you prob need a special fleece filter too.

You can search here for the spec sheet of approved oils.
