1987 300D No boost.

Hi gang.

Have to re hose the turbo boost lines in this 124 with a OM 603 for a customer today...someone has been chasing a 'no boost condition' and has made a right mess of the lines and hoses.

Need a drawing of the way they all hook up please.

Go here and look at page 6. I believe that is the correct schematic; although it is missing the vacuum reservoir.

You might want to post this in diesel discussion.

It's used by EDS to determine when and how to apply EGR and ARV (that thing on the compressor housing that bleeds boost back to the compressor inlet).

That makes sense. Being a diesel with a rack operated I/P, it had to be for something other than air ratio metering.

Thank's for the info.

Do you know where I can find out any more details on them ?

Most of us just disconnect the ARV and the EGR..........rendering the air flow meter useless.

None of them are required for anything other than emissions purposes.

But............I suppose that you cannot disable them...........

As a shop I cannot disable any emission related equipment or remove it.
