Noisy temp sensor fan -- W124
Should I be able to hear the little fan that pulls air past the in-cabin temp sensor in my 1987 300D Turbo? The fan lives behind the right side of the dash and, when I first power up the car in "glow plug mode" with nothing else operating, I can hear the fan. Once the engine starts, it drowns out the little fan -- the fan is not that noisy and it's been that way ever since I got the car over a year ago. I just wondered whether anyone else can hear their fan when the car is otherwise quiet.

Yes, not loud, but with windows closed it can be heard.

Mine got loud when it was cold out. I put a drop of ATF in it (GSXR's advice). That helped, but I can still occasionally here it. I suspect a new one would be quieter.
